I have decided that each rotation that I have Sims that will be aging to Adult in the next rotation I will do an entry like this where I decide who goes and who doesn’t and if any get any of the special non-EA scholarships. This may or may not change depending on how many teens I have about to age up at any given time.
And go over any changes to how I play University or if I’ve changed tuition rates or anything like this.
I have re-read over my tuition mod and realized that I could have a college fund set up that earns interest, meaning that families if smart could start adding to college funds for their kids and end up paying less in the end. So I will do that starting with Qiu Pangalan and any future kids when they hit toddler. But like in real life, not all will do that. I will do it for Family Sims, Knowledge Sims, and Fortune Sims and any Sim who rolls a want to graduate 3 kids from University. The aspiration only counts for the primary aspiration.

SimNation Poverty Scholarship Recipients
Only 2 eligible teens this rotation: Randi Briggs and Lance Hardy. Since the reward is given to up to 3 qualifying Sims, those two have been awarded the scholarship and will pay nothing for their tuition except what they received in EA Scholarship funds
Deciding Who Goes and Who Doesn’t
Of the 8 candidates, 6 have Lifetime Wishes that require a college degree.
Those 6 Sims are: Randi Briggs, Lance Hardy, Sean Allen, Josiah Silva, Violeta Silva, and Uuosae Tortall. Therefore, they will be going to college.
Keith Foley and Maxwell Allen are the 2 who do not require university to get into their desired careers. Both do have the want to go to college locked. Maxwell is a Knowledge / Fortune Sim as well.
Since Maxwell is a Knowledge / Fortune Sim, he will be going to University.
So the question really is should Keith Foley go to University? His family does have the lowest net worth.
I looked at his interests to see if he had decent interest in things like School, Work, and Money. And he’s mid in school, high in work, and low in money. So I think he would go to college.
Therefore all teens this generation will be going to University.
Majors
Now I need to decide what majors they should major in. The mod that I have that changes what careers requires a degree also changes it to require specific majors for careers this does limit Sims to a choice of around 4 majors.
Randi Briggs and Sean Allen both want to be Chief of Staff. So they have a choice between: Psychology, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology.
Lance Hardy and Uuosae Tortall want to be a Mad Scientist. So they have a choice between: Psychology, Physics, Philosophy, Mathematics, and Biology
Josiah Silva wants to be The Law. He has a choice between: Psychology, Political Science, Philosophy, History, and Drama.
Violeta Silva wants to be Hand of Poseidon. She has a choice between: Physics, Mathematics, and Biology.
But I didn’t just want to choose, but instead do something that would make sense for them. So I created a new page with how I decide what majors Sims choose – found here. It is a bit of a long read. It also covers how I pick careers for those Sims who do not have a career based lifetime wish.
After going through that process I have decided on the following:
- Randi Briggs – Biology
- Keith Foley – Political Science
- Lance Hardy – Psychology
- Sean Allen – Psychology
- Maxwell Allen – Philosophy
- Josiah Silva – Drama
- Violeta Silva – Biology
- Uuosae Tortall – Mathematics
